Bill to abolish the ACNC

The Coalition Government made a pre-election promise to abolish the ACNC.  To this end, in March, the first of two bills was tabled.  This first bill is designed to abolish the ACNC legislation, but will take effect only when a second bill, establishing the intended replacement not-for-profit centre for excellence, is adopted.

In a potential life-line, the bills were referred to Economics Legislation Committee for inquiry and opened for public submission.  With submissions now closed, the Committee is expected to report back to Parliament on June 16.

Read all the submissions, including RDL’s.
